A unique sapphire and diamond cocktail ring from the early 1900s. The head of the ring centres around three oval sapphires totalling an estimated 1.45ct. Held in handmade bezel settings, each sapphire is the perfect deep teal colour with flashes of blue and green depending on the light. The sapphires are in good condition for their age, but wear to the surface facets can be seen with a loupe.
Surrounding the sapphires is a stylised halo in a typical art deco style. The halo comprised of multiple panels of white gold that mimic the silhouettes of the centre stones whilst adding a geometric feel to the design. Set with over half a carat of old mined cut diamonds there is some serious sparkle to this one-of-a-kind piece.
To the reverse the ring shows very subtle evidence of being re-shanked at some point; a slight difference in tone to the metal being the only giveaway. The head of the ring testing as platinum whilst the shank to the rear tested as white gold. The white gold has slightly yellowed with age which is typical of this metal, but can be re-plated free of charge if requested.
